We have an array of classes and programs being offered throughout the summer that will introduce and involve participants to the colorful realm of fibers arts!

Stop in & Stitch Thursdays

Join us Thursdays in July and August this summer for Stop In and Stitch Thursdays at BSB Gallery from 12-4pm!

We will have fabric swatches, yarn, and more available for attendees to play around with as well! Volunteers will be on hand to assist beginners in various backgrounds!

Participants are encouraged to bring their current knit, crochet or sewing project to work on in the gallery with fellow fiber enthusiasts! You are also invited to create fiber squares for the Fiber Arts Festival, a public fiber bombing in Mill Hill park!

Japanese Book Binding Workshop

Saturday, August 24th

Exhibiting artist Julie Harris will teach a Japanese Book Binding Workshop on Saturday, August 24th from 1:30-3:00pm. This workshop will focus on the concept and structure of the artist’s book as an art object. Wood, bone, clay, stone, animal skins, fabric and leaves are all materials used to make books before paper was invented. The book, as we know it, has been in widespread use for only 500 years, but books have been in existence for thousands of years. This course will re-discover these forms and materials, as well as that of a traditionally bound book. The Japanese Stab Binding technique will be taught combining stamps and other found materials to create books with paper.
